Amarula Superside Campaign

Amarula – The spirit of Africa

The spirit of Africa comes to the streets of London!

Amarula Cream have launched a taxi advertising campaign today to promote the world famous “Amarula Cream” liqueur. The distinctive taxis hit the London streets just as the Christmas party season is in full swing!

Amarula Cream originates from South Africa where the marula fruit grows wild on the Savannah. The marula tree produces an abundant crop of pale yellow egg shaped fruit and plays a unique role in tribal legend. It is also known as “The Marriage Tree” – to this day tribal weddings take place beneath its branches and the fruit is believed to have aphrodisiac properties as well as featuring in African fertility rites. The marula fruit attracts many animals – especially elephants.

To produce Amarula Cream Liqueur, the marula fruit is gathered and the flesh pulped, sweetened and fermented. The resulting “marula spirit” is then matured in oak casks for 3 years. The spirit is then blended with fresh cream to create a smooth distinctive cream liqueur.

Seychelles taxi advertising

Escape to the Seychelles for winter? Yes please!

Are you planning a trip to the Seychelles? Lucky you! Mother Nature was very generous with these 115 islands scattered in the Indian Ocean and has spoiled them rotten. Undeniably, the beaches are the big attraction, and what beaches: exquisite ribbons of white sand lapped by topaz waters and backed by lush hills and big glacis boulders. And barely a crowd in sight!!

Which island should you go to? Don’t sweat the decision too much. Be it one of the three main islands of Praslin, La Digue or Mahé – its mountainous interior being home to Morne Seychellois National Park – or any outlying island, you’ll strike gold.

Having earned a reputation as a paradigm of ecotourism, the Seychelles is a top spot to watch birds and giant tortoises in their natural habitat. And a vast living world lies just below the turquoise waters, beckoning divers of all levels. When you tire of beaches you can venture inland on jungle trails, indulge in fine dining or enjoy the sublime laid-back tempo.

And time has come to spread the word: yes, this paradise is accessible to us all. On top of ultra-luxurious options, the Seychelles has plenty of quaint, affordable self-catering facilities and guesthouses, often situated on some of the best land. Though it remains an expensive destination, its tourist authorities are now targeting non-millionaires, promoting these economy options. But fear not: mass tourism it will never be.

The Seychelles Tourism Board have for the second year decided to promote the beautiful islands with a campaign of 25 taxis fitted with superside panel advertisements and interior tip-up seat panel adverts. All the taxis are based in Central London and the taxis are supplied by Taxiadvertising.com

The sharpest edge of taxi design with Emmy Collins

Emmy Collins is the avant-garde designer with a knack for sitting on the sharpest of edges of fashion excellence. Emmy’s sartorial creations are both fresh and daring, bordering on the debonair but decidedly cutting edge. The fleet of London taxis fitted with Superside advertisements hit the streets on 1st December 2010.

His ensembles do not hold back on the colour swatch and are made from the finest of fabrics. His latest creations include signature retro wide-lapel jackets and drainpipe trouse-rs reminiscent of styles that epitomized the spirit of 1950’s rock and roll. In addition to the appetizingly classic fit of his jackets, much attention was paid to smaller yet ever so distinguishing details like polka dots linings, the use of colourful 100% pure satin trims and in one case a biker jacket made of bleached blue denim mix with a silhouette cut to fit like a second skin. His recent play with accessories resulted in items like skinny silk print ties and chunky bow ties that come in an array of black, plaid and neon colours for that added touch of spice to outfits.

Emmy also caters to the other side of the isle with the introduction of darker pieces in shades of black, grey and earth tones thrown into the mix. Proving that he can make even neutral coloured garments exciting, tasteful and wearable. With the added choice of more subdued colours, the wearer has the opportunity to define his own style – whether toned down or colourful.

Emmy’s fashion influences include the legendary Afro beat musician Fela Anikulapo Kuti who had a sartorial penchant for smart, well fitted clothing often embellished with afro centric embroidery. His other icons include Jimmy Hendrix, Al Green and Lenny Kravitz.

Emmy himself is as eclectic as can be. A Dutch citizen of Nigerian origin, Emmy has never shied away from challenges and adventures. When he felt that his beloved city of Amsterdam did not nurture his fashion ambitions in the late 90’s, he jetted off to New York where he designed his own clothing and tested their impact by mixing in with the Big Apple’s glitterati including the likes of singer and songwriter, Prince, who complimented him on one of his outfits. Heading back to Europe following a hair’s breath escape from the September 11 attacks he decided to settle in London where according to him “London is it and east end is the new west end”.

Emmy Collins recently unveiled his Spring/Summer 2011 collection at the Pitti Immagine Uomo 78 men’s apparel fashion show in Florence, Italy. The new Emmy Collins flagship showroom in Shoreditch, London offers both ready-to-wear and bespoke services.

Taxi to St. Anton

Taxi to St Anton!

Escape the hustle and bustle of London!

Where better than St Anton, in Austria is one of Europe’s most popular resorts. St Anton is a picturesque village, incredible skiing and snowboarding terrain, an excellent snow record and breathtaking scenery.

Regarded as one of the best resorts in the World St. Anton is a mecca for advanced skiers and snowboarders (& dare I say it, two of us in the office!).

In many ways St Anton has it all. There is a pretty church and traditional village centre, but also raucous après-ski and nightclubs. There are gentle pistes letting you potter around the neighbouring villages, but also huge amounts of challenging off-piste. And though this is one of the world’s oldest ski resorts (the ski club here was formed in 1901, with the first downhill race in 1904), in recent years it has also become a cradle for brave modern architecture.

The skiing and snowboarding terrain at St Anton consists of wide open treeless powder bowls, steep cliff drops and tight chutes, massive moguls, boundless linking groomed trails and gentle beginner areas. All the terrain is supported by a fast and efficient lift system.

We are delighted that St Anton have decided to use taxi advertising to promote the resort. The campaign of Superside taxis will hit the streets in November, tempting all who see them to hop over to Austria for a fun packed weekend in the mountains. Take us there!
